#27 Get up close to the Ludington Pier Light and explore the beach
Region: West, Northern
You don’t even have to get out of your car to see the Ludington Pier Light, (but we recommend you do!). Take a stroll down the pier to get a good look at the historic lighthouse while taking in the Lake Michigan waves, or even a sunset.
If you’re looking for a great destination for a classic Michigan beach day, look no further than Pere Marquette Beach in Muskegon. This city park, located on Lake Michigan, offers a wide expanse of beach, playground, volleyball courts, a restaurant and access to lighthouses and the Muskegon Channel, also the site of the “USS Silversides,” a World War II Submarine.
